Editors Note

Welcome to the very first issue of The Mystical Mandala Gazette. Yay! I’m so excited you’re here.

The idea for this Gazette came to me while I was thinking about what I wanted my blog to feel like. I didn’t want it to be just another blog. I wanted it to feel like something you’d actually look forward to reading with a cup of chai.

The newspaper design came from one of my favourite childhood memories. Every morning my mum and dad would sit together with a newspaper and a cup of chai. I’d often sit beside them, sometimes reading, sometimes just listening to their conversations. Looking back, those mornings were so simple, but they’re some of the memories I treasure the most.

I suppose that’s what I’m trying to create here—not just a blog, but something you can come back to every month. Somewhere you can spend a few quiet minutes, learn something new, have a smile, and maybe look at life from a slightly different perspective.

I even thought about printing the Gazette! The idea of holding it in my hands sounded wonderful. But then I reminded myself not to get carried away. Let’s begin here first and see where this journey takes us. Who knows… maybe one day there’ll be a printed edition sitting next to your morning chai.

It’s been a very busy month at Mystical Mandala. The new website is finally live, new podcast episodes are out, books have been published, and lots of new ideas are slowly coming to life.

And yes… I can finally say something I’ve dreamed of saying for a long time.

I’m officially a published author.

Thank you for being here from the very first issue. Whether you found the Gazette through the podcast, tarot, numerology, or simply by chance, I’m really happy you’re here.

Now go make yourself a cup of chai, get comfortable, and enjoy the very first edition of The Mystical Mandala Gazette.

With gratitude,

Tales from the Tarot Table

The Suitcase

Lisa had spent years collecting reasons to stay where she was. A steady income. A sensible routine. Parents who admired stability. Friends who called her lucky. Yet every morning, as she watched the city pass outside the train window, she felt as though she were travelling towards a life that belonged to someone else.
One evening, without quite knowing why, she booked a one-way flight to New York.
After checking into a hotel near Times Square, she decided to go for a walk. Times Square was all lit up and looked even more beautiful than she’d imagined. Whilst walking, she noticed a man performing card tricks. He wasn’t performing for a crowd. In fact, most people walked straight past him without even slowing down.
Lisa almost did the same until he looked up and asked,
“Have you ever noticed that people spend more time doubting themselves than learning who they really are?”

She smiled politely, assuming it was part of the act.
It wasn’t.

He spread a pack of worn cards across the small café table beside him.
“Choose one.”
She turned over the card.
Lisa looked at the card. It was The Magician.
“What does it mean?” she asked.
The magician smiled.
“You’ll find out.”
He packed away the cards, stood up, and disappeared into the crowd.
To be Continued……

If Tarot Could Talk

The cards have filed a complaint:

Tower Tarot Card

Tower: “For the last time… I’m not here because your ex texted.”

Death Tarot Card

Death: “Also, stop screaming every time I appear. I literally represent transformation.”

Devil Tarot Card

Devil: “Everything is apparently my fault. Ate chocolate? Devil. Bought another handbag? Devil.”

Hermit Tarot Card

Hermit: “Please stop calling me antisocial. I’m simply recharging.”

Fool Tarot Card

Fool: “Everyone keeps saying I’m reckless. I prefer ‘enthusiastically optimistic.'”

Card of the Story: The Magician

Lisa didn’t know what the card meant.

Maybe you don’t either.

The Magician isn’t about performing tricks or making something appear out of thin air. It’s about recognising that you already have more than you think.

Sometimes we spend so much time waiting to feel ready that we forget we’ve already packed everything we need.

Numerology Corner

Number Personalities at dinner.

“I’ll order for everyone.”

“I’m happy with whatever.”

Already telling a story.

“Can we split the bill exactly?”

Changes their order twice.

“Has everyone eaten?”

Quietly analysing everyone.

Secretly calculating everyone’s net worth.

Pays for everyone.

Ritual Corner

On a Wednesday, donate something green—green lentils, vegetables, or even a small act of kindness. The value isn’t important. The intention is.

As you do, take a quiet moment and say:

“May my mind be calm. May my words be understood. May the right opportunities find me.”

I’ve always believed remedies aren’t about changing your destiny overnight. They’re about shifting your energy and intention—and often, that’s where change begins.

Journal Prompt This Month

Before you rush back into your day, why not make yourself a warm cup of chai, find a quiet corner, and spend a few moments with your thoughts.

There are no right or wrong answers. Don’t overthink it—just write whatever comes to mind.

This month’s journal prompt:

If fear wasn’t involved, what would I choose?

Sometimes we already know the answer. We just haven’t sat quietly enough to hear it.

Podcast Spotlight

This week, I pulled the Four of Swords, but what caught my attention was the pattern. After drawing several Swords cards in a row, it felt like a reminder that sometimes it’s not the body that needs rest—it’s the mind.

In this episode, I explore the deeper meaning of the Four of Swords, why repeated Swords cards matter, and what this card can mean for love, work and everyday life.

Ask the Tarot Table

Dear Tarot Table,

I’m 34 and I’ve been in the same job for eight years. Nothing is terrible, but nothing excites me anymore either. Every time I think about changing careers, I tell myself I’m just being ungrateful. How do I know if I’m simply bored or if I’m ignoring something important?

— Reema Kaur

Dear Reema,

I think a lot more people feel this way than they admit.

One thing I’ve learnt from reading tarot is that not every difficult situation comes with a dramatic warning. Sometimes it’s much quieter than that. You wake up one day and realise you’re doing everything you always do, but it just doesn’t feel the same anymore.

When I read your question, the Eight of Cups immediately came to mind.

People often think this card is about walking away, but I don’t see it like that. Before you can leave anything behind, you first have to be honest with yourself about how you’re feeling.

The Eight of Cups isn’t telling you to hand in your resignation tomorrow. It’s asking you to slow down and ask yourself a few honest questions.

Are you staying because you still enjoy the work?

Or are you staying because it’s familiar?

Are you excited about where you’re heading?

Or are you simply comfortable where you are?

There’s nothing wrong with choosing stability if it genuinely makes you happy. But there’s also nothing wrong with admitting that you’ve outgrown something that once felt right.

You don’t have to make a life-changing decision today.

Just don’t ignore that quiet voice inside you. It’s usually trying to tell you something long before the rest of your life catches up.

I hope that helps.

This Month's Collective Card

This month’s card is The Hanged Man.
If I had to describe this month in one sentence, it would be:
Don’t confuse stillness with failure.
Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to make something happen that we never stop to ask whether we’re heading in the right direction.
The Hanged Man isn’t asking you to stop dreaming.
He’s asking you to stop rushing.
If something has been delayed recently, perhaps this month isn’t about pushing harder.
Perhaps it’s about seeing differently.

Closing Reflection

I really hope you enjoyed spending a little time with me this month. If one story made you smile, one idea made you think, or one remedy encouraged you to try something new, then this first issue has done exactly what I hoped it would.

I’ll see you again next month.

Next Month in the Gazette…

Lisa’s journey takes an unexpected turn when a stranger hands her a map with one destination circled in red…

Will she follow it?
